Cinco De Mayo Feasts in Chicago

When it comes to Cinco De Mayo, sometimes a simple taco dinner just won’t cut it. If you’re really looking to celebrate tonight, here are some hot spots around town:

Mercadito

Easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in Chicago, the uber-trendy River North eatery is offering some Cinco De Mayo deals with top shelf tequila specials, live mariachi music, and a $40 sharing menu. While $40 might sound high, we can safely say that it is worth it for a taste of the Pescado Tacos your mind will be sufficiently blown.

.

El Jardin

This Wrigleyville spot is a favorite for locals in the neighborhood looking to get their margarita fix. With an outdoor patio and stiffer-than-normal Margarita pitchers, it is the perfect spot for a Wednesday night celebration. Plus – the Cubs are out of town (losing), so don’t worry about the fanatic Cubbie traffic on Clark Street.

.

Big Star

New Mexican joint in Bucktown boasts a great menu with an awesome atmosphere. If the weather warms up tonight, be sure this is where we’re headed tonight. The place opened in November and already has developed a cult following on the west side. The restaurant is built inside of an old mechanic shop and when the weather is nice they open up their giant patio.

.

Tilted Kilt

Of course, the best spot to be for Cinco De Mayo tonight is hanging out with JACK FM. We’ll be at Tilted Kilt at 11 N. Wabash from 5pm to 7pm tonight. We know “Tilted Kilt” isn’t really a Mexican joint, but we will be having a pretty massive Fiesta before the Blackhawks game including FREE JIMMY BUFFET TICKETS.
