courtney love Dispute Over Nirvana Songs Settled By Courtney Love

Courtney Love has finally decided to compromise with a management company over the money she earned from selling the rights to her late husband [lastfm]Kurt Cobain[/lastfm]‘s songs.

Two years ago, London and Co. sued Love for $1 million after claiming she owed them money from selling the publishing rights to [lastfm]Nirvana[/lastfm]‘s music. The [lastfm]Hole[/lastfm] frontwoman reportedly earned nearly $20 million from the sale.

The case was finally settled last week, however, according to a Los Angeles judge. James Janowitz, the lawyer on Love’s side, has declared the settlement but has not yet released any details.

Love had previously inherited most of the publishing rights to Nirvana’s songs after Cobain died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on April 8, 1994.
