According to NME.com, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]AC/DC[/lastfm] is planning to release a new live album this spring. The Australian rockers are offering up live recordings from 2009′s Argentina shows, where there were 60,000 people in attendance at each performance. The release will include both an audio disc as well as DVD.

Singer Brian Johnson spoke with OversteerTV about the release, saying: “We’ve got a new live album which we shot in Argentina at the end of the last tour, which was about September. The live album comes out, with the video of those concerts, in about six weeks or something. So I’m looking forward to that.”

Johnson also added that the band has no further plans after releasing their new live album.

“After that [the live release] we haven’t made any plans,” he said. “We just want to have a rest, because we were on the road for two years. We played in front of five million people, and we deserve a rest.”

This marks AC/DC’s sixth live record, with their last being 1997′s Let There Be Rock: The Movie – Live in Paris.
