It’s sad to hear that Elmer Lynn Hauldren, known to all of us in Chicago as “The Empire Carpet Guy,” has died at the age of 89. He started doing the Empire commercials in the 70s. How many of us can sing that jingle….588- (you know the rest). Did you know he was a decorated WW2 Veteran? Thanks for all the carpet sales, Elmer.

I am originaly from Lake Villa Illinois,northern suburbs of chicago,I am 42,I remember those empire commercials.What is funny,I am living in Fort Myers Florida since 2000,within the last two weeks Empire has started advertising on Fort Myers tv stations,they just opened up some stores down here.I thought I would share that with you.
