[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Keith Richards[/lastfm] has reportedly been hard at work in a New York City studio writing some new material. According to various sources, the legendary [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rolling Stones[/lastfm] guitarist has been tucked away at New York’s Germano Studios with producer Steve Jordan and engineer Dave O’Donnell.
There has been no official word from Richards about the rumors, but both the blog sonicscoop.com and a Stones fan site report that Keith is working on new material. There is also no word as to the nature of the material and if it will be used by the Rolling Stones.
If Richards is, in fact, working on a solo record, it will be the second side-project due out from a Stones member in the near future. Earlier this year Mick Jagger’s brother Christopher also confirmed that the singer has a solo album in the works.
“He’s doing a record at the moment in Los Angeles with Dave Stewart, he called me last night telling me what he was doing,” Chris Jagger told Portugal’s RTR in March.
