Whitney Houstons Final Film Role Draws Praises

There was a short preview of the movie Sparkle at the CinemaCon conference in Las Vegas Wednesday night. The movie, starring Jordin Sparks as the title character and the late Whitney Houston as her mother, chronicles the rise and fall of a girl group in Detroit.  Critics and theatre owners had nothing but good reviews for Houston’s performance.

Executive produced by Houston, the film was finished before Houston’s untimely death in February. Sparkle was her first film since The Preacher’s Wife, which was released almost 15 years ago.  The film makes its debut in theaters this August.

Find out what one critic remarked about her movie role.
