An off duty cop that saw a 7 year old jump into the Des Plaines River on Tuesday is the true definition of hero.  O’Brien says  he saw the boy playing unsupervised near an intersection on Tuesday so he figured he’d watch to see what the boy would do next.  What the boy did was jump into the icy water and O’Brien immediately jumped in and pulled him out.  Both the boy and O’Brien are doing fine.  To get get more info on this story, click this link to the CBS 2 story!
