Jeffrey Tyler Mason was born a “radio geek.” By age 15, he found a way to get paid for it, answering the request lines at WYCL in Reading, PA. That led to his first on-air position across town at WEEU.
“Jeffro” (as friends call him) went on to work in some of America’s finest holes in the road and first became a program director at WIMX in Harrisburg, PA. He eventually got the call to the majors at age 20, as he moved on to do middays at Q102 in Philadelphia. Three years later, Jeffrey arrived in Chicago and launched America’s first “80s Channel,” 103.1 WXXY. During his five years here, he also logged in some time at the former 92.7 Kiss-FM, 94.7 The Zone and Energy 92.7 & 5. Are you noticing a pattern here? Most of these stations have gone off the air! Hmm…
After being run out of town in 2003, there was a 10-year tour of humble hamlets such as Dallas, Miami, DC and Phoenix. However, that’s not where Jeffro ultimately wanted to be.
In 2013, Jeffrey T. returned to what he calls “America’s Greatest City” on 104.3 K-HITS! Get to know Jeffro for yourself each weekday from 10am-2pm. He loves making new friends. He also loves a tasty beverage. Reach out, say hello and find out which beverages you may have in common at 312-729-1043! Or, you can connect via social media.
