Wintertime in Chicago usually means strapping on some ice skates and heading out to your favorite rink. For the past four years people in the Lake View area have had the chance to go to Wrigley field for something besides baseball and concerts. They have been ice skating.
Well, it looks like that won’t be happening this year.
We all know that the Wrigley expansion has run into more than just a few hitches. This has led to the cancellation of this year’s rink at one of the oldest ball parks in the country.
I won’t be missing it only because my virgin attempt at ice skating turned into a swollen and sore nightmare for my ankles and I have never strapped on a pair of ice skates since.
Put me on wheels however and I can roller skate with some of the best of them.
