Anyone who’s a fan of the Late Show with David Letterman knows who Jack Hanna is (unless of course you were weaned on his kids’ shows).
For over 30 years, Hanna has been appearing on Letterman, not to mention other children’s shows.
His segments, in which he brings multiple animals on to show the dour David Letterman have become a staple of television. Hanna’s not just an entertainer, he’s a real zookeeper, becoming director of the Columbus Zoo in 1978.
Always hilarious, the awkward host paired with both cute and scary animals always made for great entertainment.
Sadly, Hanna was just on Letterman for the last time, since the show is ending in a few weeks. Hanna brought on some of the best animals yet, including an alligator, singing bird, the CUTEST leopard kittens and hyenas.
See the amazing animals he brought on for his last appearance, along with a retrospective below.
Near the end of the retrospective, David nearly had Jack in tears. I’m really going to miss these segments!
