Saturday Night Sizzle Song Of The Day: ‘Tragedy’ By The Bee Gees

What a great song from 1979 and the album Spirit’s Having Flown, the Bee Gees Tragedy.

The Gibb brothers wrote both this and “Too Much Heaven” (another American #1), in an afternoon off from making the ‘Sgt. Pepper’ movie in which they were starring…Then that night, they wrote ‘Shadow Dancing’ for their brother Andy.  WOW!

In the middle of the song there is the sound of a Thunderclap, Stuck for a convincing thunderclap sound, Barry Gibb cupped his hands over a microphone and made an exploding noise with his mouth.  Real Low Tech.

Hear this great song tonight on the Saturday Night Sizzle and see a performance of  it below.
