I usually forget about my dreams right after they happen.
John Lennon, on the other hand, turns his into hit songs.
Lennon says that the idea for the song “#9 Dream” came to him while he was sleeping one night.
Lennon seemed to take a “it is what it is” attitude to the song saying that there wasn’t any real inspiration to it and that he just churned it out.
But he also is quick to mention that he’s not knocking the song, it just is what it is.
Either way, the song peaked on the charts at #9 back in late 1974/early 1975, so he must have done something right.
If you want to hunt this song down, you’ll find it on Lennon’s “Walls and Bridges” solo album.
