Why Was Wayne Brady Replaced 15 Minutes Into Saturday’s ‘Hamilton’ Performance?

So if you were at Saturday’s “Hamilton” performance at the Private Bank Theater, you probably noticed that Wayne Brady disappeared about 15 minutes in and was replaced by an understudy.

Now, whenever something like that happens, rumors almost always start and this was no exception.

One of those rumors was that he was pulled for flubbing a line.

Problem with that theory though, is that Wayne Brady, who plays Aaron Burr in the Chicago production of the musical, says that’s not true.

He told The Sun-Times that he sprained his calf so badly that he could hardly speak, which necessitated the change to the understudy.

Do you believe what he’s claiming or does it sound a little suspect?
