You won’t find a Dave Fogel Street anywhere around Chicago but you will find a Javy Baez Way!
The Cubs second baseman isn’t just a World Series Champion, he also has a street named in his honor in Humbolt Park.
MLB.com is reporting that the Chicago City Council OK’ed renaming the stretch of road from Sacramento Avenue to Division Street Javy Baez Way.
Well, that is right by the baseball fields in Humbolt Park.
Secondly, Humbolt Park is mostly a Puerto Rican neighborhood and Javy is Puerto Rican!
So, here’s my connection to all of this…
My son played college baseball with Gadiel Baez, Javier’s older brother!
We’ve been watching Javy since he was drafted! Congrats!
