If you like to ride a stationary bike, then this weekend’s “Cycle For Survival” is for you!
It’s happening at the Equinox in the Loop (200 West Monroe Street, Chicago, IL) starting tonight and running through Sunday.
So just what is the “Cycle For Survival” event?
It’s the same as a relay race, just using stationary bikes.
Basically you set up a team (unless you are crazy and want to do it Iron Man style by yourself), raise some money and then do the race (which is set up in four hour intervals) over the weekend.
Well, there’s a little more to it than that, but you can get more info (and register if you want to) right here!
Oh yeah, this isn’t just a Chicago thing either, it’s happening all over the country!
One great thing is that all the money raised goes towards research of rare cancers.
Even though this type event is happening nationwide, it was actually a Chicagoan who started it!
Jennifer Goodman Linn and her husband founded the organization after finding out about her cancer diagnosis.
Sadly, she passed away in 2011, but the Foundation has continued to fight for her ever since!
