Some shocking news has broken this morning as we learn actor Bill Paxton died yesterday at age 61!
All we know so far is that his passing was “due to complications from surgery.” That’s part of a family statement.
If you believe TMZ, it was some form of heart surgery. They do tend to know the details before everyone else.
Paxton has starred in many movies, most notably as Bill Harding in “Twister,” Fred Haise in “Apollo 13,” and Brock Lovett in “Titanic.”
You may also know him from the small screen as Bill Henrickson in “Big Love” on Showtime, and currently as Detective Frank Rourke in “Training Day” on CBS.
Then there was the long running confusion with another actor. I’m pretty sure the “Bill Paxton or Bill Pullman“ game was second only to “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon!”
You can tell I’m a child of the 80’s because he will forever be Chet to me. Who remembers “Weird Science?”
Long live Bill Paxton and John Hughes…in our memories 😦
