Rod Stewart Gets Heat For Alleged ‘ISIS Execution’ Joke, Apologizes

A jaunt to a sand dune with friends has turned controversial for Rod Stewart. Due to a joke gone wrong in a video, Stewart has been accused of pantomiming an “ISIS-style execution.”

Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster, posted the video on her Instagram before. She later deleted it, but nothing can be permanently deleted from the internet. Watch the video in question below.

Responding to the controversy, Stewart has apologized, saying his actions were “misinterpreted.”

Stewart continued: “From re-enacting the Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game Of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show.”

Anyone who’s seen the “Red Wedding” on Game of Thrones will instantly know what Stewart is talking about.
