The Chicago Blues festival is happening June 9th through the 11th and the official lineup has been announced!
On Friday it’ll be John Primer and The Real Deal, Rhymefest and Billy Branch & The Son of Blues as the headliners.
Saturday has Nellie Tiger Travis, Theo Huff and the New Agenda Band and William Bell as the big acts.
Sunday features Ronnie Baker Brooks, Rhiannon Giddens and Gary Clark Junior to close out the Festival at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
That’s not to mention the tons of acts that will be playing the various side stages over those three days!
I think that’s a good lineup of acts, but to be honest with you, it’s kind of like Lollapalooza to me… I know a couple of names, but most I have no idea on!
Maybe I need to visit that new Chicago Blues Museum that’s supposedly coming to Chicago in 2019.
Crains Chicago Business says that the museum will be at 25 East Washington and will feature not only blues history, but a blues lounge that’ll feature a ton of live music!
Too bad it’ll be another two years before it opens!
