This week’s song is a great one. It’s a teen anthem from 1978 from a band out of Rockford, Cheap Trick. It’s called ‘Surrender’ and its quite cool. You see the singer thinks of his parents as a bit over protective and kind of weird, but he gains a new respect for them at the end of the song when he wakes up and they are rolling around on the couch listening to his KISS records. It doesn’t get any better. Though the song didn’t chart high, it’s one of Cheap Trick’s most popular. Check out the song in the eight o’clock hour tonight, and look at the live version below.
