Illinois May Be Headed Towards A $15 An Hour Minimum Wage!

Even though some people are worried about how it will affect some business, a bill that would start Illinois towards a $15 an hour minimum wage has cleared a House Committee.

Currently the state’s minimum wage is $8.25, but would move up to $9 on January 1st if this does end up passing.

It would then move up to $15 an hour over the next five years.

….and now one of those “only In Illinois politics” type stories…

On Tuesday a convicted felon was elected as Mayor of the City of Markham.

While it’s OK for a convicted felon to run and even be elected to an office like this, they can’t actually serve in the position.

In fact, if Roger Agpawa is sworn in, the Cook County State’s Attorney says she’ll use her powers to make sure he doesn’t!

Is “icky” a meteorological term?

Because that’s what it’s going to be pretty much all day today.

There’s rain this morning and a high wind warning through much of the day.

There’s also a lakeshore flood warning for people living near Lake Michigan as well!

Funny thing is, the TV networks will probably have people standing along the shoreline telling you just how dangerous it is to stand along the shoreline!

They realize that we’ve all seen waves, wind and rain before right?
