Metra Is Thinking About Expanding When Pets Are Allowed On Trains!

So, it’s a Wednesday, you want to take Fido Downtown, but you live in the suburbs and don’t want to drive.

Well, Metra may have your answer.

Right now you can take small pets (as long as they’re in a carrier) on to Metra trains, but only on the weekends.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that starting May 1st, Metra has given the green light for people to do the same during the week, but only during off peak hours.

They’ll do it for about six months and then figure out if the plan is working or not.

But don’t try and bring your Great Dane or Bernese Mountain Dog on the train.

Just like it is on the weekend, the dog has to fit in a carrier that you can either put on your lap or under your seat.
