Illinois Students Will Be Required To Learn How To Write In Cursive!

I remember learning in school how to write in cursive when I was growing up, but it seems like that’s fallen to the wayside.

But, that’s about to change.

Us News and World Report is reporting that the Illinois House has given the thumbs up to legislation that would require schools in the state to teach cursive.

Both those for and against it had what they thought were valid arguments.

The pro people asked how are you supposed to sign a document with your signature if you don’t know how to write in cursive?

The con people pointed out that you don’t need a signature and could just put an “X” if you wanted to!

Writing in cursive wouldn’t be a class that Illinois students would have to take year round, but they would have to learn it from time to time.
