Now, I’ve heard of service dogs that help people deal with depression and other stuff, but this has to be the first time I’ve ever heard of service pig.
But that’s exactly what Pigly, a 60 pound mini-teacup pig was for a Batavia man.
(Mini? How is something that weighs 60 pounds considered mini?)
Problem is, there’s an ordinance in Batavia that prohibits people from owning livestock within the city limits.
Officials wanted to fine the pig’s owner $500 bucks, but that’s when the public stepped in.
WGN News says when some Batavia residents found out about the fine, they started a petition to give Pigly a break.
Well, the other night the Batavia City Council did just that and will make Pigly the exception to the rule….but with one catch.
Pigly’s owner has to keep him on a leash.
That’s good news for Pigly’s owner who says that the pig is a pet and not breakfast…
