If you noticed a bunch of members of the Chicago Fire Department at North Avenue Beach, it wasn’t because they were trying to rescue someone.
Well, actually they were, but this was just training and not real life!
Chicago’s beaches open up on Memorial Day weekend, which, if my math is right, is a little over three weeks away!
To prep for that, CBS 2 says that medical response teams were on the beaches training for what hopefully never happens!
The teams will ride up and down the beaches on bikes, but these aren’t just any ordinary bikes!
From what I understand, these mobile medics have a lot of the same technology with them on those bikes that they have inside an actual ambulance!
It’s another sign that summer is just around the corner, now all we have to do is get Mother Nature to warm it up a little bit around here!
