If you stayed up last night to watch all 18 innings of the Cubs/Yankees games, you’re probably pretty tired.
The game started at 7 last night but didn’t finish until over six hours later!
Yes, it was after 1 AM when it was all said and done and the results pretty much stunk.
The Cubs lost 5 to 4 and were swept by the New York Yankees. Ugh!
But there was some interesting records broken during the game.
There was 48 strikeouts over those 18 innings and, according to USA Today, that’s the most strikeouts in any one MLB game ever!
It was also the longest Sunday night game ever, but was just shy of the longest game at Wrigley Field.
Comcast Sports Net says the attendance started at around 40,584 but it was merely a fraction of that when all was said and done.
Besides the length of the game, it got pretty cold out there too!
But hey, if you stuck around, you did get two seventh inning stretches.
One, obviously, in the seventh inning and then again in the 14th!
Just in case you headed to bed, and who could blame you, here’s highlights from last night’s (or should I say this morning?) game.
BTW-Check out Kyle Schwarber’s catch! Amazing!
