So do you perform karaoke?
Are you any good at it?
Well, if you are, Illinois State Fair officials are looking for you.
They’re looking for someone to be the opening act on the grandstand stage at the Illinois State Fair this August and are looking all over the state to find someone.
They’re holding auditions at various local county fairs this Spring and Summer (including the one in Morris on Monday, July 3 at 4 PM) to find the best of the best.
You’ve got to be over 18 to get in on the contest though.
Here’s what they wrote on their website:
“This summer the Illinois State Fair staff will be traveling to various county fairs to find some of the best talent in our great state. The top two contestants at each qualifying competition will move on to compete for the grand prize — the chance to be the opening act on the Grandstand stage at the Illinois State Fair.”
As for me, well, I only sing well in the shower, and I doubt they’ll let me drag that up on stage!
