Born in Goodwill, Louisiana Tony Joe White was the real deal; a genuine bayou rock singer/songwriter. He would chart his biggest hit song the same year that CCR was at their peak.
On May 16th, 1968 Tony Joe recorded his own unique song in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
The song first hit the Billboard charts on July 5, 1969.
Polk Salad Annie remained on the charts for 12 weeks and peaked at #8.
