It’s not summer yet, but it will be for the mile and a quarter stretch between Lake Shore Drive and Lake Street along the Chicago River.
Tomorrow marks the opening of the Chicago River Walk and all its food, music and activities.
The Sun-Times says that the price tag for the River Walk was around $108 million and last year vendors grossed 8.5 million in revenues, so they still have a way to go before making that back.
So just who are they looking to check out the River Walk?
Obviously tourists, but officials also told Channel 7 reporters that they want locals to fall in love with it too!
(…and no doubt spend their cash as well…)
I guess as a Chicagoan, I’d better go check it out one of these days…
