Chicago’s “L” Just Turned 125 Years Old!

People have been riding the “L” for a really long time!

125 years to be exact!

(BTW-I looked it up, it’s officially The “L” and not The “EL.”)

It looked a little different back in 1892 though.

Back then it was steam trains on wooden tracks.

Here’s something cool that is being done to celebrate today’s anniversary.

The Chicago Tribune says some vintage trains from both 1923 and 1976 will be running this afternoon.

The 20’s car runs for an hour and a half starting at noon.

The 70’s car will start at noon but run a little longer until 3 through the Orange and Pink line stations!
