That’s Steve Bartman, the Cubs fan that was villified after trying to catch a foul ball during Game 6 of the 2003 NCLS.
The Cubs went on to lose that game….and the next game….to be eliminated from the series.
For 14 years, Steve Bartman hid from all publicity and never cashed in on what happened to him.
Now that the Cubs have won a World Series, the organization wanted to close the door on that.
They did so by giving him one of these:
