Chicago’s Anti-Cruelty Society Is Taking In Pets From Houston’s Animal Shelters

There were a ton of pets abandoned in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

So many pets that the Houston animal shelters can’t handle them all because they were already full pre-flooding with cats and dogs.

That’s where Chicago’s Anti-Cruelty Society comes in.

CBS 2 Chicago says that many of those animals are headed to Chicago to be adopted, which will make room for newly abandoned pets.

That also means that people who were displaced by Hurricane Harvey in Houston have a better chance of finding their pets again.

The Anti-Cruelty Society here in Chicago expects the influx of cats and dogs soon, so it’s a good time if you’re looking to adopt a rescue animal.
