Throwback Thursday: ‘School’s Out’ By Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper was in town last night with Deep Purple at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater.

So, in honor of that, I decided to pick this song for Throwback Thursday!

“School’s Out” was a song that was on Cooper’s 1972 album of the same name.

Cooper says the song is all about the best three minutes of any students life.

Those three minutes, he says, are the ones right before school lets out for summer.

Hence lyrics like these:

“No more pencils, no more books, no more teachers’ dirty looks…”

Yep, that’s pretty much my high school year’s in a nutshell.

Unfortunately, it’ll be a long long time before Chicago Public School students have that feeling.

They just went back to school this past Tuesday!
