Somebody Give This Guy a Medal! … No, Really.

The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics have been exciting thus far; full of strange events. From yellow water to the stray dog problem, it’s safe to say this is one of the more exciting Olympics – and that’s all before the opening ceremony! Nothing, however, has impressed me more than the video footage below.

India’s Shiva Keshavan made an amazing save during a training session for his event, the luge.

The luge event has some tragic history. Olympic fans were rocked by the news at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics when Republic of Georgia contender Nodar Kumaritashvili died in a training accident. Safety concerns had been raised even before training began. The International Olympic Committee honored Kumaritashvili on Wednesday before the commencement of the Sochi Olympics.

The Olympic Committee has made several statements that safety is being considered before speed for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics luge track.

Still, it’s amazing to see Keshavan maneuver himself back onto the luge at such a speed! Check out the video here!

Are you excited for the Winter Olympics?
